Students who wish to purchase a la carte items such as second meals, snacks, chips, cookies, and/or a beverage to go with a packed lunch, must have funds in their student meal account. Cash is not accepted at the cafeteria registers.
How to put funds on your student’s meal account:
Option 1: Pre-pay for student meals using SchoolCafe www.schoolcafe.com/SouthMiddletonSD (click here for link).
Create an account (no credit card necessary) and track your child's meal balance using the website or app. To make payments, a credit card or bank card must be added.
Advantages of Utilizing SchoolCafe:
- If you have more than one child in the District you can handle all online prepayments from the same online account and track all deposits made.
- You can setup automatic low balance e-mail notifications for the students enrolled in the program
- Payments may be made through an existing PayPal account or with a major credit or debit card. *NOTE: There is
a convenience fee for online payments on SchoolCafe.

How to Make a Deposit
Option 2: Send cash/check (made out to SMSD Cafeteria Fund) into the school office with your child's student information (full name, grade, student ID number) clearly written on the outside of an envelope. Please write your child's full name and ID number on the check memo line. If necessary, envelopes are available in the school offices. In approximately 48-72 hours, the amount submitted will be applied to your child's school meal account.
