As part of the federal No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), school districts are required to publish an annual district report card. The purpose of this report card is to inform you of the District’s progress in meeting forty-one targets established under NCLB. The targets include graduation rate, attendance rates for students in Kindergarten through Grade 8, and academic performance as measured by the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA). This report card provides information on how well South Middleton students met the targets, as well as a comparison between the achievement levels of our schools and those of other schools across the state.
Also, as part of NCLB, parents may request information regarding the professional qualifications of their child's teachers. For the 2010-2011 school year, all South Middleton School Districts have the appropriate certifications for their teaching assignments and meet the criteria to be identified as "highly qualified".
