Free breakfast for all enrolled students! (website update 10/1/22)

Starting October 1, 2022, through the end of the 2022-23 school year, breakfast will be free of charge for all enrolled students!

Any enrolled student will be able to receive a free complete breakfast at any SMSD school building.

· Second breakfasts are not free.

· A la carte is not free.

· Students must get a complete meal for it to be free.

*** IMPORTANT: This change is only applicable to the School Breakfast Program in the 2022-2023 School Year and does not affect a student’s eligibility status for lunch (free, reduced, and paid, respectively). Lunches are not part of this program and will continue to be charged based on eligibility. ***

Important Meal Service Information UPDATE for the 2022-23 School Year

The USDA Waiver that allowed us to provide free breakfast and lunch to all enrolled students will expire on June 30, 2022. We will not be able to provide free meals for all enrolled students for the 2022-23 school year. Meals will only be free for those who qualify as eligible.

* Meals will be charged to students based on eligibility (free, reduced-price, paid). Cafeteria registers will not accept cash. Students MUST have funds in their student meal accounts to charge meals and/or a la carte items. *
