Individual Education Program (IEP)

The IEP is the child’s specially designed program and includes a summary of performance in the current educational program, annual goals, specially designed instruction and a statement of specific special education services to be provided to the student. This document is a written commitment of resources necessary to enable an exceptional student to receive necessary special education supports and services. The IEP is a legal document. All school personnel are obligated to follow the recommendations written in the IEP and implement the specially designed instruction necessary for the student.

An IEP meeting may be convened at any time at the written request of parents or school personnel; however, an IEP review must be conducted annually to review and, if necessary, revise the existing IEP. To request a meeting of the IEP Team, parents should notify their child’s IEP case manager either via email or letter.
