Welcome to the South Middleton School District
Dr. Patricia B. Sanker
South Middleton School District Superintendent
On behalf of the Board of School Directors and Administration, I would like to welcome you to the official website of the South Middleton School District. This site has been designed to provide timely, useful, and important information for parents, students, and community members. In addition, the site contains information that may be of interest to prospective residents of the District.
At South Middleton we take pride in the fact that our focus is on our students. The District serves approximately 2,250 students in kindergarten through twelfth grades in four school buildings with exemplary facilities. Our students are supported by 181 teachers, 100 members of the support staff, and 16 administrators.
Our students begin school together in full day kindergarten classes at the W. G. Rice Elementary School. Upon completion of the primary education program, the students move to the Iron Forge Educational Center for the 4th and 5th grade upper elementary experience. Next the students attend the Yellow Breeches Middle School for grades 6, 7, and 8. The final move in the educational journey is to Boiling Springs High School for completion of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12.
The unique delivery of our educational program allows our students and their parents to grow friendships that last a lifetime. In addition, our administration, faculty, and staff are able to establish a collaborative culture that allows us to build solid relationships with our students and their families.
The District is proud of the continued support we receive daily from the community, the parents, and the alumni. Their dedication to the District is demonstrated in classroom activities, PTO, extra curricular activities, and athletics. They exemplify the phrase “it takes a village to build a child.”
For over 100 years the South Middleton School District has been part of the community and township of South Middleton. Our schools are a reflection of our community. We invite you to take part in the education of your child by becoming an active member of the South Middleton School District.
Within the pages of this website, you will see a glimpse of the people, programs, and activities that are a part of the South Middleton School District. I hope that you can take from these pages, a sense of great “Bubbler” pride that we all share in our District, our schools, and our community.
Sincerely,
Patricia B. Sanker, Ed.D.
Superintendent
